James has been in private practice for over twenty-two years with over fifteen (15) years of litigation experience in South Florida. He has litigated in the circuit courts of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Collier Counties. James has also litigated cases in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and represented clients in the bankruptcy court for the Southern District of Florida.

For most of his career as a litigator, James has represented small business owners and individuals as insurance defense counsel in a wide variety of cases. James has defended premises owners in slip/trip and fall cases and negligent security actions. He has experience defending trucking companies and ride share drivers. 

James also has experience defending and prosecuting labor and employment cases, including those alleging discrimination in employment, alleged violations of the Family Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), and wage and hour disputes arising out of the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), and in defense of business owners facing accessibility claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”).  James has also defended claims of alleged trademark infringement against a local jewelry retailer and defended a security company in a maritime case involving a yacht stolen from a prominent South Florida marina.

As a solo practitioner, James has represented those injured by the negligence of others in premises liability actions, negligence security cases, and automobile accidents. James even has experience as a liability insurance adjuster for an insurance company with a nationwide book of business. Oh, we forgot to mention that James started his legal career as in-house counsel for a leading radio and television broadcasting company where he negotiated and drafted executive and talent contracts, licensing agreements, oversaw compliance of the promotions department with contest rules, and participated in litigation involving allegations of breaches of employment agreements and enforcement of covenants not to compete.

Now James brings all of his past training and experience to dispute resolution. James has a passion for problem solving and conflict resolution. Trained in mediation and arbitration by the legendary Rodney Romano, James is well-equipped to help settle disputes, whether by mediation, arbitration, or both (when court-ordered).
